This week’s Irish Open at Galgorm Castle GC in Northern Ireland is being held without fans due to coronavirus restrictions.
However, it hasn’t stopped a few local farmers from watching the golf from just behind the fences that adjoin the golf course.

Min Woo Lee joined fellow European Tour golfers for a 100ft Putt Challenge
Australia’s Min Woo Lee joined fellow European Tour golfers David Horsey and Pablo Larrazabal to make a 100ft put with the new Callaway Triple Track golf ball.
Despite the line to the hole marked out with 1,500 Callaway Triple Track balls, a 100ft putt is still a 100ft putt and it was always going to be a real challenge.

Scott Hend was mic’d up and had a bad day on the golf course
A few weeks ago now, Scott Hend agreed to wear a microphone while he played the second round of the Hero Open in England.
And unfortunately, Hend had a poor round.
The second-round 8-over 79 meant Hend missed the cut, but if there is one positive to take out of it, it’s a fascinating watch for the average golfer.

Golfer loses match after caddie touches the sand in a bunker
The rules of golf forbid a golfer deliberately touching the sand in a bunker. And the same applies to a golfer’s caddie.
The prestigious US Amateur event took place at Bandon Dunes over the weekend. A couple of days of strokeplay sees the top 64 players progress to the knockout match play competition to determine the winner.

MUST WATCH Si Woo Kim lips out for second hole-in-one in one round
Ian Baker-Finch is the only golfer to make two hole-in-one ins a single round on the PGA Tour. And it was very nearly matched by Korea’s Si Woo Kim.
We’re not sure what is more remarkable here; the lip-out for the second ace or the call by Jim Nantz.

By all reports the new Coore and Crenshaw designed Sheep Ranch golf course at Bandon Dunes is very good. (I’ve added a flyover video below…)
