Rory McIlroy threw a remote-controlled golf ball into the lake
A remote-controlled golf ball interrupted play at the BMW Championship, and Rory McIlroy dealt with it.
Some bizarre stuff can happen on a golf course, but we’re not sure we’ve seen anything like this before.
Rory McIlroy and playing partner Scott Stallings arrived at the 15th green during the third round of the BMW Championship to find another golf ball on the green.
And it was being controlled by a spectator standing nearby.
McIlroy appeared at first to be content to stand and watch. Then he decided he’d had enough and ditched it into the lake.
