Hamilton Island Golf Club opens for business
Just when you thought this part of the world couldn’t get any better, Peter Thomson and Ross Perret have designed and unveiled Hamilton Island Golf Club.
It’s Australia’s newest and only island-based championship golf course and it opened last week in the heart of one of the greatest spots in the world, The Whitsunday Islands.
Weirdly enough, you’d expect Hamilton Island Golf Club to be on, well, Hamilton Island – but it’s not. It’s on the nearby Dent Island, a five minute boat ride from Hamilton Island but the journey to and from Hamilton is included in the green fees.
I took one look at the pictures of this course and realised I didn’t care what island it was on, I just want to play it.
