Serena Williams caught taking photos of Tiger Woods
Golf security serve Serena Williams a warning.
You aren’t allowed to take photos of golfers at PGA Tour events. It is a crazy rule to protect those who are allowed to take photos of the golfers. This is different to tennis and nearly every other sport where you can snap away at the athletes until your memory card is full. But Serena Williams didn’t know this. She is used to fans taking photos of her all the time and assumed the same must apply to Tiger Woods.
Williams was alongside the 17th tee as Woods was teeing off in the Honda Classic on Friday when she decided to take a photo of the world number two ranked golfer. Security at the tournament spotted the infringement immediately and told the world number one tennis player to put the camera phone away.
Williams then tweeted this:
Ok at this Golf tournament. Just saw @tigerwoodsI understand NO golf Apparently u can’t take pics. This security for mad and yelled at me— Serena Williams (@serenawilliams) March 1, 2013
And then this:
