“Your worst putt is always gonna be better than your worst chip”.
I’ve been meaning to post this for a while ’cause it says something pretty obvious, but a mistake many golfers make. Particularly mid-to high handicappers.
If you are just off the green with a relatively smooth surface and no obstacles to clear, it is a very wise move to putt the ball. Many golfer’s feel that putting from off the green is succumbing to an easy option, or a work-around to their chipping problems. The fact is the putting stroke is an easier stroke to make than a chip with far less room for error.
And if you don’t believe me, former coach of Tiger Woods, Hank Haney will tell you so.
