The new EA Sports PGA Tour video game looks epic
EA Sports is bringing back the PGA Tour video game franchise and the early previews look fantastic.
It’s been 10 years since the last release of the old EA Sports Tiger Woods PGA Tour video games. The last golf game EA Sports released was the Rory McIlroy PGA Tour edition in 2015.
It seems the long hiatus is over though with EA Sports announcing a new PGA Tour game to be launched in the next few months.
A few months ago, the official teaser video was released with a stack of imagery from Augusta National, and not surprisingly for anything touched by EA Sports, the graphics are fantastic. The gallery, golf course, and golfer renderings look better than anything we’ve ever seen before.
More recently, PGA Tour and DP World Tour commentator Iona Stephen narrates a second video taking a more detailed look at the gameplay itself showing off a “Pure Stick” mechanic for the golf swing, and a swing shot feature that will give users the choice of 20 different types of shot.
We’re told that the EA Sports PGA Tour will be released on March 24th, 2023 for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
