Golfer’s tee shot hits flying seagull and ricochets out of bounds
If the Road Hole at St Andrews isn’t hard enough, English golfer Mark James had a seagull to contend with.
Mark James teed off at the Road Hole (the 17th) at St Andrews during his first round of the Senior Open Championship and his golf ball hit a flying seagull.
To add salt into the wound, the ball ricocheted off the seagull and out of bounds near the hotel that borders the right hand side of the hole. Back to the tee he went, eventually carding a triple-bogey for the hole and a 5-over par round of 77.
