Australian author Paul Daley has worked hard to get this wonderful book off the ground. Ben Hogan: A Yardstick of Golfing Greatness will be released in December 2016 and you can get yourself an early bird offer if you order now.

From the press release:

Approaching two decades since the passing of Ben Hogan [1997], golf followers continue to be awed by the nine-time major winner’s achievements. No-one faced and overcame more setbacks on the path to becoming a champion golfer. Then, while at the peak of his career, Hogan’s life was cruelly put into a tailspin following a near-fatal head-on automobile accident. Surviving the 1949 crash was miracle enough, yet the bantamweight Texan confounded medical opinion and returned to the sport just twelve months later. Thereafter, from a greatly curtailed playing schedule, he carved out a stunning record in the major championships between 1950 and 1953. As late as the early 1960s, Hogan was always the ‘one to beat’ in the US Open.

A pictorial depiction of this professional golfer is being released in December 2016, as a high quality hardback limited edition (500 copies only) publication.

All of the big moments in Ben Hogan’s career are captured, represented by magnificent photography and incisive captioning. The 175-page publication features in excess of 100 photographs seldom available to golf followers. An added dimension of this publication is the inclusion of Hogan-specific memorabilia, appearances in Hollywood films, and non-golfing elements.

The publication carries a subscribers’ list, whereby each purchaser’s name is listed inside the front of the book.

Due to various factors the book is expensive to produce: the high cost of licensing photographic images, accessing high quality book materials/stock, and the economies associated with a limited print run. Therefore, the purchasing cost is Au $175.00 (plus postage), although no money is required until publication time. A simple pledge will suffice for inclusion on the subscribers’ list.

An alternative ‘EARLY BIRD’ payment method may suit some subscribers. In this instance, the price is reduced to Au $150 (plus postage), payable upon confirmation on the subscribers’ list. The book’s anticipated release date is December 2016.
