Lanky amateur Christo Lamprecht has an unlikely share of the lead after round one of The Open Championship at Royal Liverpool.

Lamprecht shares the lead with Tommy Fleetwood and Emiliano Grillo on a day when a number of big names struggled to tame the difficult Hoylake layout.

Lucas Herbert and Min Woo Lee are the best of the Australians at even par with defending champion Cameron Smith a shot further back at 1-0ver par alongside Adam Scott and Jason Day.
