Lydia Ko announces she will turn professional on YouTube.
At just 16-years-old, Lydia Ko is doing some remarkable things in the golf world. As of last week she was the world’s top-ranked women’s amateur golfer and according to the Rolex World Rankings, the fourth best female golfer in the world.
Ko already has four professional victories to her name including two LPGA Tour wins and the debate about when she will turn professional been going on for many months.
The debate has now ceased with Ko announcing to the world on YouTube (but specifically Izzy Dagg) that she will be turning professional immediately. She plans to play her first event as a professional at the US$2million CME Group Titleholders tournament in Florida in November.
There are few golfers as talented and as likeable as Ko in world golf. We wish her all the best and can’t wait to see how long it will take her to win her first event as a professional.
It may only be a month away.
