West Beach Parks Golf: Diverse Golfing Haven in Adelaide
There are few golfing facilities in Australia that can cater for the range of golfers like West Beach Parks Golf.
Adelaide, Australia – West Beach Parks Golf, situated between the dynamic airport and the tranquil coastline, has emerged as a versatile golfing facility that accommodates a wide spectrum of golfers.
Boasting two distinct courses, a driving range, and a fully equipped pro shop, West Beach Parks Golf has firmly established itself as a prominent public golf club in Adelaide.
The Executive 60, a par-60 short course, serves as a welcoming starting point for novices entering the world of golf.
Meanwhile, the Patawalonga Course, characterized by its championship-level links-style layout, has undergone significant evolution over time, adapting to the needs of players with varying skill levels.
The transformation of the Patawalonga golf course was notably influenced by developments at the Adelaide Airport. In the late 1990s, the expansion of the airport’s runway prompted the restructuring of the course.
Despite initial challenges, the course’s fundamental design has endured. In recent years, meticulous efforts have led to substantial enhancements in course conditions, providing golfers with a gratifying experience at an affordable weekend rate.
The redesigned back nine stands as a testament to the course’s evolution. Notable among these holes is the 10th, a skillfully designed short par-4 that demands precision and rewards calculated play.
The 15th, 16th, and 17th holes further underscore the delicate balance between risk and reward, offering strategic opportunities while penalizing wayward shots.
Beyond its well-crafted courses, West Beach Parks Golf offers an inviting environment. The once rough area surrounding the pro shop has been rejuvenated, a reflection of the facility’s commitment to improvement.
Catering to junior players, university students, avid golfers, and casual enthusiasts alike, West Beach Parks Golf stands as an inclusive and accommodating venue. It is a place where newcomers take their inaugural swings, seasoned players refine their skills, and a diverse golfing community thrives.
Amidst a landscape of golf courses catering to specific niches, West Beach Parks Golf emerges as a sanctuary where golfers of all backgrounds find solace and a shared passion.

I agree with all of the comments you have made I would like to point out that Peter Ormsby and his staff have done a fantastic job developing the Pro Shop and Golf Acadamy including the driving range hit off bays. Pete and his staff do a wonderful job of serving the patrons and creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. One thing people don’t realise is the course and facilities are managed by Adelaide Shores which is actually the West Beach Trust – Adelaide Shores are responsible for the management of the Executive 60 and Patawalonga Golf Course along with the Adelaide Shores Caravan Park, Holiday Resort and many other sporting and recreation fields. The golf courses are managed by Adelaide Shores and their dedicated staff who have done a wonderful job in recent years by constructing the largest putting green in the state, redeveloping many of the holes and improving the general condition of the two courses. The Adelaide Shores golf complex is set to become on of the premier public golfing locations in Australia. I am looking forward to the continuing developments.
Thanks very much for that. It’s a great environment to play/learn golf. The Trust is doing a fantastic job.
This course has undergone further improvements this year and with the excellent continuing work done by green keepers, would deserve to be rated as one of the best public courses in Australia.I first started playing this course in the mid sixties and I am continually amazed by the excellent transformation that has taken place.
We have been there last year on our caravan tour, but it’s so sad that we weren’t able to stay longer to play golf because of the limited time. Adelaide Shores is indeed a nice place to visit.
