Brett Rumford and Marcus Fraser put on short game master-class at Perth International
This is how one of the world’s best short-game players deals with a tricky bunker shot.

Brett Rumford had a wild third round at the 2016 ISPS HANDA Perth International. The West Australian carded a 1-over par round of 73 around Lake Karrinyup that included six bogeys, one birdie and incredible back-to-back eagles at the 14th and 15th.
Rumford’s hole-out from the green-side bunker at the 14th was a piece of exquisite golf that will surely go down as one of the shots of the year.
Despite the heroics, Rumford’s roller-coaster round saw him drop out of a share of the lead, ending the third round five shots behind leader Louis Oosthuizen. American Peter Uihlein and Franchman Romain Wattel are in a tie for second two shots behind Oosthuizen.
Staking his own claim for the best short game on the European Tour is fellow Aussie Marcus Fraser.
After the European Tour site only yesterday lauded his short-game as one of the best in golf, Fraser took it to another level today at Lake Karrinyup needing just 20 putts, yep 20 putts to card a bogey-free 7-under par 65.
Fraser hit just nine greens in regulation but scrambled to get up-and-down nine out of nine times. Remarkable golf.
“A master around the greens.”
