Turkish Open will see players tee off from a rooftop tee box: video
Has professional golf jumped the shark? There is a rooftop tee box at this week’s Turkish Open.
Forget about the back tees, golfers will be teeing off from the rooftop of a villa during this week’s European Tour event, the Turkish Airlines Open.
When players get to the par-4 16th hole at the Regnum Carya Golf Resort they will climb a specially constructed set of stairs that lead on to the roof of one of the villas that surround the course and play their tee shot.
The drive will play over the villa pool below, across a hedge separating the villa and the golf course, across the proper tees, across a lake and hopefully onto the fairway.

Other videos and images will no doubt be popping up on social media all week. Here are a few more that have already raised a few eyebrows and has golf fans wondering where this can go from here.
