Tips for Driving the Ball an Extra 10 Yards by DP World Tour Golfers
Ahead of this week’s season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai, tour players were asked how to hit a driver an extra 10 yards.
Featuring golfers including Rory McIlroy, Min Woo Lee, Jon Rahm and Tommy Fleetwood it’s interesting to hear the different responses and the varying swing thoughts.
“Swing it harder” is clearly a common answer but some pro golfers achieve that in a range of different ways. Rasmus Hojgaard’s method of driving the golf ball further is very different to Ryan Fox’s, for example.
A few more thoughts before we get to the video – it would be fascinating to compare these modern-day tips with the ones offered by old persimmon drivers. I’m guessing the phrase “swing it harder” would be barely used. And can someone tell the greenkeepers at Jumeirah Golf Estates to cut back those trees on the left? They need to get off the stage and allow the full range of driving lines.
