Tiger Woods, Jason Day and Dustin Johnson all miss the cut at Torrey Pines: video
Justin Rose leads at the halfway mark of the Farmers Insurance Open but all the talk is about who missed the cut.
Ir was billed as the super group for the week. World number one Jason Day, US Open champion Dustin Johnson were paired along side Tiger Woods in his big return to the PGA Tour, but it didn’t exactly go to plan.
Johnson, Day and Woods have all missed the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines with two round scores of 2, 3 and 4-over par respectively
We all know that it can be difficult to play well with golfers who aren’t, but few would have expected all three to have a bad week and have the weekend to themselves. Woods maybe, but not Day and Johnson.
Day was quick to defend the form of Woods and pleaded for patience and give the 14-time major champion a year to prove himself. But we can’t help but think reaction to Woods’ form at Torrey Pines was best summed up by this tweet:
Tiger lovers: early days/baby steps😻
Tiger haters: washed up best he could do🙀
Tiger realists: gotta lot of work to do with driver😿#tiger— Denis Pugh (@Dpugh54) January 26, 2017
Justin Rose leads the tournament through 36-holes at 8-under par with the newest 59er Adam Hadwin and Brandt Snedeker just a shot behind.
Johns Senden is the leading Australian at 4-under par, four shots behind Rose.
