Golfing couple’s remarkable double hole-in-one at Bendigo golf course

A great story has been doing the rounds this week in the media of a couple who made back-to-back aces at a Melbourne golf course.

Ben and Georgina Haines, a couple from Bendigo, achieved a remarkable feat during their weekend golf competition at Neangar Park Golf Club by scoring consecutive hole-in-ones on the same hole.

Playing on the 136-metre par-3 12th hole, Ben and Georgina each aced their shots, a rare occurrence with odds estimated at 17 million to one. This was the first hole-in-one for both, and the moment added an extra level of joy to their weekend round.

The couple’s shared accomplishment was celebrated by their golf club, which treated them to a bottle of bubbles and beers.

The Haines, who play golf together most weekends, said the event made the round particularly memorable, with Ben humorously noting that his favorite hole after the 12th was “the 19th.”

Despite their success on the course, their good fortune didn’t extend to their beloved Carlton football team the following day.
