Genesis Golf Link Cup winner announced, gets a brand new Hyundai: video

Golf Link and Hyundai Motor Company Australia have announced the winner of Hyundai Genesis for Series One.

Australia’s biggest golf competition the Genesis Golf Link Cup seems to be getting bigger and bigger each year, and Shane Cooke from Pittwater Golf Club in Tasmania has been announced as the first lucky winner of a brand-new luxury Genesis sedan valued at over $89,000.

Golf Link General Manager Nick Thornton and Hyundai Motor Company Chief Executive Officer, Mr Charlie Kim presented the keys for the new Hyundai Genesis to Shane Cooke earlier this week.

“Golf Link is very pleased to have Genesis from Hyundai as the naming rights partner for the Genesis Golf Link Cup. We thank Hyundai for their commitment to Australian golf and the opportunity for two lucky golfers each year to win a luxury Genesis Ultimate,” Thornton said.

“We congratulate Shane on being our lucky golfer, one of 96,000 players from Series One – we know he will enjoy his new vehicle.”

Shane qualified for the draw by playing twelve rounds of competition golf, well over the six round requirement, scoring over 39,000 points and proof that this huge prize can be yours, simply by playing regular club golf.

“We are thrilled to be giving our first Genesis away to Mr Cooke for Series One of the Genesis Golf Link Cup,” Hyundai Motor Company Chief Executive Officer, Mr Charlie Kim said.

“Genesis is turning heads with its beautiful design, and when you drive it, you appreciate its incredible quietness and sophisticated engineering. I’m sure Shane will enjoy his new Genesis.”

Series Two of the Genesis Golf Link Cup, is now underway at clubs all over Australia, with golfers competing every week for thousands of prizes from Callaway Golf, GolfBox, the Golf Link Wine Club and Golf Link Travel.

At the end of the year, 16 golfers from each series qualify for the Genesis Golf Link Cup Final, to be held in 2016 in conjunction with the Emirates Australian Open at Royal Sydney Golf Club, where Genesis is the Official Vehicle Partner.

The eight Series One qualifiers are as follows:
