Jason Day has advanced to the WGC Dell Match Play semi-final after beating American’s Brandt Snedeker and Brooks Koepka both 3&2 on day 4.

The victory has set up a mouth-watering match against world number three Rory McIlroy for a spot in the final. McIlroy survived a tight match against Zach Johnson in the morning round of 16, squeezing home with a 1up win. McIlroy’s 4&2 victory over Chris Kirk in the afternoon round was more comfortable.
World number one Jordan Spieth was eliminated by South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen 4&2 earlier in the day. Oosthuizen went on to defeat another American in his afternoon quarter-final match when he beat Dustin Johnson 2&1.
Oosthuizen will face Spaniard Rafa Cabrero-Bello for a spot in the final against the winner of the Day/McIlroy semi-final.
