It appears the tradition won’t continue with news that the Australian Masters will not be held in 2016.

After a few problematic years where the tournament has run at a loss with poor attendances and a lack of big-name golfers, Australian Masters’ organisers IMG have announced that the event won’t be held in 2016.

Matthew Millar will take a one stroke lead into the final round of the 2015 UNIQLO Australian Masters and looking for only his second professional victory of his career.
After playing on the European Tour, Asian and Japan Tours for much of his professional career, Millar took out his first professional win earlier in the year when he won the NZ PGA Championship.
