Adam Scott is back and is practising with a short putter
Adam Scott arrives at the WGC Cadillac Championship and has been seen putting with a short putter.
Adam Scott will tee off in the WGC Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral this week. It will be Scott’s first golf tournament for the year after time off following the birth of his daughter.
Golf, by Tour Miss reported that Scott was pretty pleased with himself for changing the baby’s first five nappies but we’ve been more surprised at Scott’s putter choice leading up to his first event.
Several photos have surfaced of Scott practising at Doral using a claw grip with a short putter.
It’s fair to say that it was his putting that let him down in his most recent Australian tournaments and with some half-decent days on the greens, he could have picked up at least two of the three big Aussie tournaments.
We still think Scott’s problem ultimately lies with reading the greens and think he’s as good a putter as anyone once he has the correct line. After all, he sank the putt to win the Masters after caddie Steve Williams gave him the line.
Scott has been seen practising with a short putter before tournaments in the past but he played the tournament with the broomstick putter. With the ban on the anchoring technique still nine months away, we will have to wait and see if Scott uses the short putter for tournament play any time soon.
