Dustin Johnson was cruelly handed a two shot penalty to miss out on the playoff at the 2010 US PGA Championship but he has shown no sign of that heart-break to lead the 2015 PGA Championship by one stroke.
Johnson made the most of the clam conditions early in the day to shoot a solid, 6-under par to finish the day one stroke better than Swede David Lingmerth.
Aussies Jason Day and Matt Jones are in a bunch just two strokes behind Johnson in a tie for third place.
