Woman killed in Sydney siege is daughter of ex-R&A captain

All else seems nothing more than trivialities this week after the horrific siege that occurred in Sydney.

Two hostages were killed: a brave café owner who reportedly did his best to fight the gunman, and a young lawyer, wife and mother of three children, Katrina Dawson.

Dawson was the daughter of Sandy Dawson, a prominent barrister and businessman, but also the president of the Royal Sydney Golf Club and former captain of the Royal & Ancient Golf Club.
