WGC HSBC CHAMPIONS Australian TV broadcast on GOLF TV only

Foxtel and FoxSports Australia no longer show the WGC golf tournaments.

It seems this old post from 2017 is popping up in searches for golf fans looking to watch the WGC HSBC Champions event in 2019.

And unfortunately for Foxtel subscribers, they no longer hold the rights to show WGC events any more.

The PGA Tour took the back the rights last year and the only way you can now watch love is via their GOLF TV app; a PGA Tour owned subscription service.

FoxSports are showing all four rounds of the WGC HSBC Champions event beginning at 2pm (AEST) each day.

Fifteen of the world’s top-20 players are teeing it up in the WGC HSBC Champions tournament in China this week and FoxSports have all the coverage at a great time to watch for Australians.

Coverage of the WGC HSBC Champions will start at 1pm (AEST) on Thursday. For some reason we will only get three hours of coverage from the final round from 4pm on Sunday?

Adam Scott, Jason Day, Marc Leishman, Scott Hend, Andrew Dodt, Ashley Hall and Matthew Griffin make up the Australians in the field that is headlined by pre-tournament favourite Dustin Johnson.

Marc Leishman is probably Australia’s best bet this week coming off some strong performances in the past few months including a win at the BMW Championship and  a tough playoff loss to Justin Thomas at last week’s CJ Cup in South Korea. The solid form has seen Leishman rise to a career high 12th in the overall world golf rankings.

FoxSports 5 viewing times (AEST)
Thursday, Friday:
1:00 – 7:00pm
Saturday:
2:00pm – 7:00pm

Sunday: 4:00 – 7:00pm

  • I have been to all the Foxtel TV guide sites and there is no sign of the WGC golf from China! Could it be a mistake or on free to air somewhere?

  • What’s going on with foxtel. Ive subscribed since its inception. You’re offerings have gone from bad to worse especially your sports coverage. When compared to Netflix your program content is inferior and you are four times the price. Disgusting, unless something is done to rectify your obvious problems you’ll be losing another customer.
