Si Woo Kim becomes youngest-ever to win PLAYERS Championship: video
South Korea’ s Si Woo Kim has claimed his second PGA Tour victory, and it’s a big one.
Si woo Kim was unflappable making nine consecutive pars to win the PLAYERS Championship by three strokes from a couple of more experienced golfers, Ian Poulter and Louis Oosthuizen. The 21-year-old became the youngest-ever winner of the PLAYERS with victory not only gives him a big chunk of cash and stacks of FedEx Cup points, but puts him in line for a berth on the Presidents Cup team to play the United States in New Jersey in September.
The best of the Australians at TPC Sawgrass was Adam Scott who finished five shots behind Kim. Scott was leading the tournament though 16 holes of the first round but finished with consecutive double-bogeys which cost him any chance of putting pressure on Kim down the stretch.
Jason Day finished with one of the worst rounds of his career. A 8-over par 80 saw the world number three slump to 7-over par for the tournament into a tie for 60th place.
Scott sounds up-beat about his golf game though with the US Open at Erin Hills just a month away.
