Rules official hit by tee shot at European Tour event: video
The middle of the fairway is often a safe place to be, but not during the middle of a professional golf tournament.
India’s S.S.P. Chawrasia successfully defended his title at the European Tour’s Hero Indian Open on the weekend with a massive seven-stroke victory but there was also this strange incident during the final round.
England’s David Horsey had smashed his tee shot at the par-4 9th hole at the DLF Golf and Country Club when his golf ball hit a rules official who, for some reason was driving down the fairway. Horsey’s ball gained an extra few metres as the ball only lightly struck the official and rolled into the golf cart.
