Jason Day duffs a drive 100 metres; still makes par

We are going to see plenty of highlights from Jason Day this year so let’s get this one in while we can.

Playing his drive at the par-4 13th at the Plantation Course (Kapalua) at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions this weekend he duffed his drive 110 yards as you can see first in the video below.
His playing partner Justin Rose, thought it was the funniest thing he’d seen in a long time and when Day pulled out driver again for his second said, “You’ve got some balls to hit driver again”. But driver again he hit and ended up with a par!
His reaction is fantastic to an obviously crap shot and it is fast becoming clear (despite the shot) that he has got a pretty good head on his shoulders.

  • Being able to stuff a like that and save par is what golf is all about! Did he make the ladies tee?

  • Exactly. I don’t know! I think he may have but they refer to it as the ‘forward tee’ in Hawaii. I’m guessing to be more PC and allow anyone to play from the front tees if they wish.
