South Korean In Gee Chun has stormed home to win the 2015 US Women’s Open at the Lancaster Country Club.
In just her eighth LPGA Tour start, Chun birdied three of her last four holes to hold to win the 2015 US Women’s Open – her first major championship. Playing in the second to last group, Chun wasn’t really considered a chance to win going into the final day but her fourth round 4-under 66 was the equal best of the day and sent her atop the leaderboard as many of the other big names faltered.
Karrie Webb was the best of the Australians finishing in a tie for 14th place. The good performance wasn’t enough to see the Australian legend win an eighth major title but it may be enough to reclaim Webb’s status of Australia’s highest ranked golfer after Minjee Lee failed to make the cut.
