Hannah Green Clinches Fourth LPGA Tour Victory with Dramatic Win in Singapore
Hannah Green becomes the fourth Australian to win more than four times on the LPGA Tour.
Australia’s Hannah Green clinched her fourth LPGA Tour victory with a one-stroke triumph at the HSBC Women’s World Championship in Singapore. Starting the final day two shots behind the leader, Green made birdies at the final three holes, to storm home and finish the tournament at 13-under.
The pivotal moment came with a 30-foot uphill putt on the 18th hole, edging her one stroke ahead of France’s Céline Boutier, who had matched her with a final-round 67. This win marked redemption for Green, who had previously suffered a heartbreaking runner-up finish at Sentosa Golf Club.
“As soon as that putt went in, I was like, oh, my God, I’ve won. It just all went really, really quickly,” Green said after her round.
Green now becomes just the fourth Australian golfer who has won more than four times on the LPGA Tour winners – Karrie Webb (41), Minjee Lee (10), Rachel Hetherington (8), and Hannah Green (4).
As Green heads back to Perth to spend time with her husband Jarryd Felton, whom she married in January, she emphasized the importance of enjoying the sport that rarely gives you victories.
“You have to enjoy the sport. It can be one that doesn’t give you much success straightaway,” Green said. “There’s so many hard moments in golf and these highs don’t always come.”
