Golf fan jumps into water hazard: video courtesy of Harold Varner III
A golf fan gets inside the ropes, escapes security and jumps into the water hazard.
Australian PGA Championship winner Harold Varner III missed the cut at last week’s Farmers Insurance Open (won by Spain’s Jon Rahm) but he stuck around long enough to see this bit of mayhem.
A golf fan jumped the ropes at the 18th hole at Torrey Pines and was stopped by security. He managed to escape their clutches twice, once to jump int he hazard, and a second time as he attempted a surprise escape.
We’re not condoning anyone jumping the ropes at any golf tournament – but it is funny to watch.
By far the greatest thing I saw yesterday. pic.twitter.com/WXDjRs9ZN1
