Check out this spectacular par-3 course that just opened in New Zealand
The world needs more par-3 golf courses and this one may well be the world’s best.
New Zealand’s famed golf course The Hills in Arrowtown has add yet another unique arrow to it’s already impressive bow with the opening of a new, 9-hole par-3 golf course.
And ‘The Farm’ looks truly spectacular.
Owner of The Hills, Michael Hill appointed Australia’s Darius Oliver (who helped design Cape Wickham and publishes the Planet Golf book series) to design.
I was hooked immediately upon seeing this long tee boxes that make for a huge range of distances and angles to the green, and allow golfers to play from whatever distance they want.
It really does look special and it’s where Sir Bob Charles, at age 82 made a hole-in-one last week.
The only problem I can see with this place is that very few of us will ever be able to play it. The Hills is ultra exclusive. But all the same, we can’t help drooling over this photos.
It’s just the sort of thing we need to see more of in Australia – except one that’s open to the public. Darius? What can you do?
