Australia’s Best Public Access Courses, 2012 edition
Amid the Australian Open and Presidents Cup fanfare, the 2012 edition of the Australian Golf Course Guide was published and it includes its annual “best Australian golf courses” list.
As well as the “Best Design”, “Best Stay and Play” and “Best Aesthetics” categories, AusGolf released their 2012 list of Australia’s Best Public Access Courses which features a new golf course in the number two position.
Like last year, Barnbougle Dunes occupies the top position, but this year its sister course was eligible and Lost Farm has shot straight into the number two slot, just ahead of The Dunes on the Mornington Peninsula.
Like all “Best of…” lists, they’re very subjective but its worth checking out just to see what courses you should be playing next year. The 2012 Golf Course Guide gives a lot of information all of Australia’s golf courses as well as plenty of discounts on green fees and golf packages.
Australia’s Best Public Access Courses for 2012 (last year)
1 Barnbougle Dunes, Tas (1)
2 Barnbougle Lost Farm, Tas (new)
3 The Dunes, Vic (3)
4 Moonah Links – Legends, Vic (2)
5 Joondalup – Quarry Dunes, WA (4)
6 Kennedy Bay, WA (5)
7 Barwon Heads, Vic (8)
8 Magenta Shores, NSW (6)
9 Moonah Links – Open, Vic (7)
10 St Andrews Beach, Vic (10)
