Adam Scott confirms appearance at 2013 Australian Masters

Australian Masters organisers IMG announced today that Adam Scott will be back to defend his title at Royal Melbourne, November 14 – 17, 2013.

Adam Scott currently has both a gold and green jacket in his wardrobe, as current Australian Masters champion and of course 2013 US Masters champion.

While Scott probably doesn’t don the gold jacket each day like he does with the green one (as he admitted after his Masters victory), he is still looking forward to returning to defend his Australian Masters title at Royal Melbourne, the 35th year the event has been staged.

“I’m excited to be returning to Melbourne to defend my Australian Masters title at Royal Melbourne, one of my favourite courses. I’ve always had fantastic support in Melbourne, and I’m sure this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever,” said Scott.

Scott resisted the urge to return home to Australia after his Masters victory to celebrate with family and friends. Instead he chose to take a week or two off at his Bermuda home and focus on securing another major or two before the year is out.

It was widely rumoured that the 2013 Masters champion would return to Australia to not just celebrate but possibly play in a number of Australian tournaments. With official confirmation that Scott will play at the Australian Masters we await to see if he will play in other tournaments such as the Australian PGA Championship and the Australian Open. It seems likely Scott will also stay an extra week in Melbourne to represent Australia in the World Cup of Golf which will also be hosted at Royal Melbourne.

Won’t it be great to have a multiple major winner playing in Australia this summer? 🙂
