WATCH Charlie Woods Makes First Hole-in-One at PNC Championship
Charlie Woods delivered an ace and an unforgettable moment at the PNC Championship; somehow, his famous dad missed the shot.
At the PNC Championship in Orlando, 15-year-old Charlie Woods etched his name into the record books with his first-ever hole-in-one.
The moment came during the final round on the par-3 fourth hole at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. Using a 7-iron, Charlie’s shot from 175 yards landed softly before rolling into the cup, a scene met with roaring cheers from the gallery.
The ace propelled Team Woods—comprised of Charlie and his father, Tiger Woods—into a playoff, though they ultimately fell short to Bernhard and Jason Langer.
The significance of the moment wasn’t lost on either Woods. “That was the thrill of a lifetime,” Tiger said, visibly beaming as he celebrated with his son.
Charlie, still processing the accomplishment, admitted, “I didn’t even see it go in. That sucks—but it was awesome.” The shot not only lifted their spirits but also fueled the duo to finish with a tournament-best 57 in the scramble format, cementing their second runner-up finish at the event.
The father-son dynamic added to the spectacle, as Tiger joked about the long-standing golf tradition of the ace-maker buying drinks.
Charlie’s quick-witted reply—”I’m not buying. I’m broke”.
