Tiger Woods’ $50 Ball Marker Sparks Debate Among Golf Fans

Tiger Woods’ latest Sun Day Red release—a limited-edition US$50 ball marker—has sparked lively reactions from fans questioning its premium price.

Tiger Woods’ company, Sun Day Red, recently unveiled a new limited-edition ball marker priced at US$50, raising eyebrows among golf fans.

The marker, available in four colors—blue, pink, green, and purple—is supposedly crafted from high-grade metal and bears the Sun Day Red emblem.

Andy Roberts at GolfMagic pointed out that while the design and branding reflect Woods’ emphasis on quality, the price point has led to widespread debate on social media, with some fans expressing surprise at the premium cost for what many consider a simple golf accessory.

But a large number of golf fans could not believe their eyes after seeing the price of the ball markers on X / Twitter this afternoon.

Here’s a selection of golf fan comments:

WTF! Is Tiger having a laugh?!

How much?!’

SDR can’t be serious?!

Love Tiger, but it’s a hard pass from me

Is this an April Fool?

Reactions included calls for more affordable options in the golf space, while others humorously suggested sticking to everyday items like coins as ball markers. Despite the pushback, Woods’ brand has continued to make inroads in the golf market, with the product launch arriving shortly after Sun Day Red’s first pop-up store at the prestigious Pebble Beach Golf Links.
