THE MASTERS / Watch Jack Nicklaus’ grandson make a hole-in-one in par-3 contest
Wonderful footage here as Jack Nicklaus’ grandson Gary Nicklaus Jr cards an ace during the annual par-3 contest prior to The Masters.
And if you listen closely you can hear Gary Player loving the shot as the ball heads towards the hole.
Playing in the same group as Nicklaus and Gary Player was two-time Masters champion Tom Watson who went on to win the par-3 contest by one stroke from Thomas Pieters and Tommmy Fleetwood. Something players are normally reluctant to win as no player has yet to win the contest and go on to win the tournament.
“Jack is crying like a baby. Couldn’t have been any better. No better scene in golf.” Watson said.
“The statement you make is that this game’s for older people. It’s generational. You’re not done after you’re 30 like most sports, or 40. You can still play into your 70s and 80s.”
