The great match and hickory golf
Geoff Shackelford picked up this little gem via the World Hickory Open website. It outlines one of the earliest challenge matches to determine who was the best golfer in the world at the time, between Willie Park and Old Tom Morris.
It features one of Australia’s best modern exponents of the hickory game, Perry Somers who always reminds me of Sam Neill.
