Spieth wins FedEx Cup and replaces Day as world #1: video
Jason Day’s reign as the world number one golfer has ended for the moment, as Jordan Spieth takes back top spot.
Jordan Spieth has won the the lucrative 2015 FedExCup after winning the season ending TOUR Championship by four strokes.
Spieth’s victory not only means he claims first prize for winning the TOUR Championship, $1.485 million, but he also is awarded the $10 million bonus for winning the FedEx Cup Trophy. The Texan also takes back his crown atop the world golf ranking replacing Jason Day who finished the TOUR Championship in a tie for 10th place.
Both Spieth and Day will most likely face off in the singles matchplay at The Presidents Cup in South Korea in two weeks time.
In good news for the International team, New Zealand’s Danny Lee finished with a fine 5-under 65 to finish ia tie for second place alongside Sweden’s Henrik Stenson and England’s Justin Rose.
