Rod Pampling just misses out on a 59, leads Shriners Open by two: video
Rod Pampling is back on the PGA Tour and shot an incredible 11-under par 60 today.
Rod Pampling has coming roaring out of the blocks to shoot a first round 11-under 60 to lead by two shots at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas. Pampling’s round included two eagles and seven birdies, before leaving himself with an 11-foot putt on the last hole for a 59 that just missed to the right.
Pampling headlines a strong showing from the Australians after round one. Matt Jones, John Senden and Cameron Smith are all within the top-10 with Geoff Ogilvy in a tie for 16th place after his opening round of 4-under par 67.
And Pampling’s after round interview; “there’s some life left in me yet”.
