Phil Mickelson’s Road Hole tee shot finishes on hotel balcony: video
Phil Mickelson has done what Geoff Ogilvy did – hit his golf ball onto a hotel balcony.
Phil Mickelson’s tee shot on the 17th hole at The Old Course during the final round of the 2015 Open Championship may have been lost a little in the dramatic finish.
Just like Geoff Ogilvy had done during a practice round earlier in the week, Mickelson sent his tee shot flying into the hotel.
Lefty got a little too much draw on his tee shot and it ended up hooking into the hotel, finishing on the balcony of room 130.
Mickelson took four rounds to get firing and by the time he reached the famous Road Hole 17th, he was 6-under par for the day and had reached 10-under for the tournament. The resulting triple-bogey was the only blemish on his card for the round and eventually finished The Open in a tie for 20th place.
