Mark Allen: “I don’t think Adam Scott can win another major with the short putter”
Listen to Mark Allen’s comments on Adam Scott’s chances of winning more majors.
Former golf professional and SEN Radio‘s Mark Allen has said he doesn’t think Adam Scott can win another major with the short putter.
Talking with Kevin Bartlett’s on this morning’s Hungry for Sport program, Allen expressed doubts that Scott can win another major when Scott is forced to switch to the short putter in 2016.
“I’m not the only one here; I don’t think Adam Scott can win another major with the short putter, it’s pretty simple,” Allen said. “He’s got four more cracks at it next year.”
The rules of golf will prohibit the putting action that Scott currently uses from January 1, 2016. The new rules will outlaw any anchoring of the club to the body – Scott anchors the end of the putter to his chest. So while he won’t strictly have to move to a short putter, he won’t be able to use his current anchoring technique.
Allen also talks to Bartlett about his views on split between Steve Williams and Adam Scott, and some thoughts on this week’s Ryder Cup.
Mark Allen can also be heard on SEN’s Chasing Birdies program on Wednesday evenings.
