Manley makes a hole-in-one, thinks he wins a car and then makes a septuple-bogey: video
When good times go bad for a Welshman at the World Cup of Golf.
An eventful morning at Royal Melbourne was punctuated by this hole-in-one from Welshman Stuart Manley during the third round of the World Cup of Golf.
Manley had just birdied his opening two holes when his tee shot at the third disappeared into the hole. The Welshman celebrated by giving the Mercedes-Benz a big hug, but sadly the prize is only on offer for an ace in tomorrow’s final round.
The bad news clearly rattled Manley who carded a 7-over par 11 on his next hole after a poor tee shot was followed by a pitch shot that kept on rolling back off the green.
For the record, Manley’s front nine scores were: 3, 4, 1, 11, 3, 3, 4, 5, 4.
