Jason Dufner muffs a putt, launches ball into water: video
Dufner’s brain went Dufnering at the Franklin Templeton Shootout on the weekend.
Jason Dufner had a really bizarre moment at the frivolous Franklin Templeton Shootout on the weekend. As he was lining up a putt his putter slipped and hit his golf ball. The format of the event meant he did not need to play out the hole and he picked it up and launched it into the water hazard.
But as we learned when Thorbjorn Olesen did something similar at the more serious Turkish Airlines Open this year; you need to take a one-stroke penalty, replace the ball where it was (as you were not making a deliberate shot at the ball) and continue playing out the hole.
