It’s Australian Masters week and Adam Scott is back in town!
Adam Scott is looking to make it three consecutive gold jackets by winning this week’s BetEasy Australian Masters.
It’s that time of the year again. The three big Australian golf tournament are set to tee off again, beginning this week with the BetEasy Australian Masters at the Metropolitan Golf Club.
Since moving from its ‘traditional’ home at Huntingdale Golf Club, the Australian Masters golf tournament now swings about the fantastic sandbelt golf courses. After sampling the likes of Kingston Heath, Victoria, and Royal Melbourne golf club last year, the Australian Masters arrives at the stunning Metropolitan Golf Club in 2014, and the action begins this Thursday.
World number two Adam Scott headlines the tournament and will be looking to win his third consecutive Australian Masters title after beating Ian Poulter to the gold jacket in 2012 and pipping Matt Kuchar at the 18th in 2013.
Contenders to spoil his party will be coming from a Australians who know the course well including Geoff Ogilvy, Stuart Appleby, Steven Bowditch and Brett Rumford.
Americans Boo Weekley and Kyle Stanley will also be looking to find some form away from the US PGA Tour but if you want form, the guys in contention on Sunday may be Wade Ormsby who will fly back to Australia after a great finish at the Turkish Airlines Open* or Anthony Brown who won the 2014 Mazda NSW Open yesterday.
Get on down to Metropolitan Golf Club, the course and golf will be fantastic. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster.
If you can’t get to the course, Channel Seven will be broadcasting live from Metropolitan GC every afternoon from Thursday at 12:30pm.
* Wade Ormsby had qualified for the European Tour’s season ending event in Dubai and won’t be in the field at Metropolitan GC this weekend.
