Media release

Asia has a new golf industry news and information platform called Golf Industry Asia with the URL www.golfindustry.asia

PGA of America and PGA of Australia Member Mike Orloff has joined forces with PGA of Great Britain and Ireland and China/Hong Kong Professional Golfers’ Association Member Sean Plunkett to launch the new platform.

Mike is based in Queensland, Australia, and founded Golf Industry Central in 2008 with a focus on the Australia/New Zealand markets. Sean is based in Hong Kong as an executive search advisor for Global Talent Solutions with a strong focus on the Asian market.

“There is a major gap in this type of golf industry B2B information for the Asian market,” said Mike. Sean and I will help better connect the Asian golf industry by sharing news, jobs, events, and other relevant information. The industry has some great stories and we’d love to help tell them.”

“Sharing knowledge and connecting our industry has always been a foundational part of my businesses. Getting to know Sean over the past year opened up the idea of expanding a web presence in the 48-country-strong Asian golf industry,” says Mike.

Sean and Mike have both traveled, worked and presented extensively throughout Asia and developed a strong network of industry colleagues.

Sean said this is the next logical step to bring the industry closer together.

“Before I made my move to Asia, it was incredibly hard and rare to find opportunities without a platform that covers the region and I didn’t know who I could reach out to for help.

“Mike and I are proud to be able to offer such a platform to connect golf industry professionals from around the world in one place for the Asia region,” Sean said.

“I’ve had the good fortune of visiting many amazing clubs across Asia and meeting some inspiring people in the industry. One of my goals with Golf Industry Asia is to be able to provide a platform to showcase the clubs in the region, its friendly professionals and its amazing cultures.”
