Golf club spotlight: Pacific Dunes Golf Club
In our club profile feature, we take a look at the Pacific Dunes Golf Club in NSW’s Port Stephens.
As much as would like to, we can’t get around to all of the 1000+ golf courses in Australia and review them properly. But what we can do is throw the spotlight on some of Australia’s great golf courses and give you a taste (and a tease) on what they have on offer including the golf course, club house, membership options and accommodation in case you want to “stay and play”.
Located just 10 minutes from Newcastle Airport, Pacific Dunes is rated as the fourth best public access golf course in NSW. Designed by course architect, James Wilcher, the 6411 metre par-72 opened in 2001 and is a favourite of ours in Port Stephens.
Parts of the golf course is set in lush forest, while the difficult back nine meanders its way around water courses and is both a challenge for skilled golfers as well as good fun for those less experienced on the golf course.
