Golf and Beers on the Road Through the Nullarbor

Coopers have teamed up with Andrew Peters and Cameron Avery from Tame Impala for a golf tour along the Nullarbor.

A video series called “The Beers & Nullarbor Tour” has popped up, featuring two guys playing their way across the Nullarbor Golf Course.

It’s part ad for Coopers and part showcase of the Nullarbor Golf course. The episodes featuring Andrew Peters and Cameron Avery from Tame Impala are short—too short to really get to know the guys but long enough that it doesn’t feel like a straight-up commercial.

The visuals are stunning, with plenty of great shots of the Nullarbor’s unique landscape and the local communities. It’s well-made and leaves you wanting more. Maybe we’ll get an extended version with extra footage and more chats with the locals?

The most interesting part might be Cameron’s long-form article over at Monster Children, where he talks about his love for both golf and road trips. Turns out, the two barely knew each other before the trip.

We’d met on the golf course before, but other than that, we didn’t really know one another, which is always a bit of a crap shoot. Take it from me: getting out on the road with anyone is a bit of a make-or-break. They could be your closest bandmate, best friend, spouse or family member, but you have to figure out pretty quickly how to spend at least eight hours a day picking music, sharing snacks, timing bathroom breaks and pacing conversation; otherwise, things can get real awkward.

Parts 1 and 2 are out now (see below), with Part 3 coming next week.

From the YouTube description for the videos:
