Combining a love of golf and art, Mike Cocking now has all of his work in one place at Golf Renderings.

Mike Cocking is part of the successful OCCM Golf Course Design team but he also had a real talent with the brush and pencil. Cocking has combined his love of golf and art to produce some exquisitely drawn course guides for a number of golf courses including Barnbougle Dunes, Royal Queensland, Kingston Heath, The Grange and Cape Wickham.

Five people killed in plane crash heading to King Island for golf trip

We just wanted to express our condolences to the families of those killed in the tragic plane crash that killed five people on their way to King Island.

According to reports, the pilot and four passengers of the small plane that left Essendon Airport yesterday were killed when it crashed into the DFO stores that run next to the Tullamarine Freeway nearby.

USGA and R&A say pros aren’t hitting it much further, but no one really believes them

The R&A and the USGA have released a review saying that the golf ball isn’t being hit any further than it was 13 years ago. But it’s all a little misleading.

Golf’s governing bodies, the R&A and the USGA released their annual review of driving distance last week, and came to the conclusion that there has been very little increase in driving distance over the last 13 years.

Cape Wickham golf course is up for sale

If you happen to be in the market for a golf course, there is a very sweet links for sale down on King Island.

Golf Australia and Golf Digest magazine’s are reporting that Cape Wickham golf course is up for sale. Owner Duncan Andrews also developed The Dunes on the Mornington Peninsula and Thirteenth Beach at Barwon Heads but has put the famed golf course on the market stating he has done everything he can with the property.

Rules of Golf overhaul; changes revealed in March

Get ready for the biggest makeover to the Rules of Golf we have seen for many decades.

The Rules of Golf are set for a major overhaul with the R&A and USGA to reveal the proposed rule changes in early March.

Golf’s governing bodies have been working to modernise and simplify the rules of golf for the past five years and according to Ryan Herringon at Golf Digest, USGA executive director Mike Davis has said no rule is off limits to any changes:

Several Australian golf clubs have been playing a form of the Golf Premier League for some time, but now it has been officially endorsed by Golf Australia and the state golf organisations.
