Boring, ridiculous, robot golf

It’s no wonder Robert Allenby and others are thinking of leaving the PGA Tour for more golf in Europe. The latest scores from this weeks PGA and Nationwide events being held in the US are verging on the ridiculous.

After round 1 in the current PGA Tour Event Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, two players sharing the lead on 10-under, all players in the top 10 shot 8-under or better and 88% of the field shot par or better!

In the Nationwide Event, the Chattanooga Classic it’s a similar story. A score of 11-under leads the way after the first round, the top 13 players all shot 7-under or better and 83% of the field shot par or better!

We’re told that the golfing audience likes to see birdies being made but this is ludicrous. This golfing audience would like to see them all on a windswept links course where imagination and shot making is needed to get around the golf course.
