has come from three shots back to win the Navistar LPGA Classic
, her second victory on the LPGA Tour. A couple of years ago, Hull looked like dominating the Tour and appeared set to be Australia’s best golfer. While still playing good golf, she never quite caught fire they way everyone expected.
She credits a bible verse (Proverbs 2:6-11) she carried around this weekend for the victory. “It talks about, ‘He holds victory in store for the upright,’” she said. “I was like, that’s kind of an unusual verse that just stuck in my head. I guess call it a premonition, but I’m pretty happy with the way it went. Thanks, God.”
She is now 13th on the 2010 LPGA money list and number 20 in the world.
The Nationwide Tour
is the second tier professional golf tour in the US and it is really all about finishing in the Top 25
money leaders for the year to earn your PGA Tour card for the following year. The wins have catapulted Steven Bowditch and Scott Gardiner into the Top 25 at 11th and 24th respectively. A good finish will see them on the PGA Tour next year.
Alistair Presnell is the other Australian within reach and currently sits in position 29. We need to get on the Presnell train here at Aussie Golfer. Presnell basically missed his PGA Tour card by a shot or two last year. After a very successful season it was a heartbreaking finish which saw him miss out in 28th position. We wish him and all the Aussies a good finish to the year. We’ll be watching.
