Another sub-60 round on the PGA Tour as Canada’s Adam Hadwin cards 59 in California: video

We’re starting to wonder if we are seeing a trend here. That’s three sub-60 rounds in the last six months.

Just for completeness we wanted to make sure we acknowledged another 59 that was made on the PGA Tour over the weekend. Canada’s Adam Hadwin carded a 59 during the third round of the CareerBuilder Challenge on the La Quinta Country Club in California.

We recently wrote a piece on the best sub-60 rounds on the PGA Tour but we’re going to have to add to the list after two have been carded in the last three weeks. Justin Thomas shot 59 at the Sony Open and now Adam Hadwin’s amazing 13 birdie haul was the first 59 on a par 72 on the PGA Tour since 1999.

If you throw in Jim Furyk’s 59 last year, then of the nine sub-60 rounds in the history of the PGA Tour three have come in the last six months, and six since 2010.

  • Where is “the desert”? I didn’t realise there was just one.
